July 13, 2011, Victoria, BC – With just one week to go until the 2011 Courtnall Celebrity Classic mental health fundraiser hits the town of Victoria, a number of additions have been made to the star-studded guest list.

We are pleased to announce that Starr McMichael has joined the Courtnall Celebrity Classic as Event Relations, based in Victoria. Working closely with Judy Christianson, executive director of the Courtnall Celebrity Classic, Starr will assist with all event logistics, including volunteers, as well as manage the silent auction. She will also work closely with our many generous inkind sponsors to ensure they get the support they need to help us put on the very best Courtnall Celebrity Classic ever! During this period of time, Starr will be taking a temporary leave of absence in her role as Chairman of the Victoria Hospitals Foundation.

Tickets for the Gala event, Friday July 22, 2011 at the Fairmont Empress and Victoria Conference Centre are now available to the public. People may register on line for the star studded event and the cost is $300 per person for an evening of glamour, amazing food, entertainment, as well as a silent and live auction. And not to mention, rubbing shoulders with such celebrities as Pam Anderson, Jason Priestley, Don Felder, Ron MacLean and Willie Mitchell.
With just eight weeks to go until the 2011 Courtnall Celebrity Classic arrives on BC’s West Coast, the three brothers behind the star-studded mental health fundraiser are dusting off their clubs in preparation for what just might be the most successful Classic in the event’s history.

For the first time at Royal Jubilee Hospital, both geriatric and adult mental health patients will be cared for in the same building as other acute patients. Four full units and 82 beds in the new Patient Care Centre will be entirely dedicated to caring for patients with acute mental health needs, including a 10 bed secured Adult Mental Health – Intensive Care Unit.

Victoria and Oak Bay will once again host business, sports and Hollywood celebrities this summer as Geoff, Russ and Bruce Courtnall announced the third Courtnall Celebrity Classic will be held July 22 – 24, 2011, in support of the Victoria Hospitals Foundation’s $25 million Building Care Together campaign.
